FAQ — DCI Systems

Question 1

How long does a typical TV system installation take?

Accepted Answer

For most hotel properties, a full TV system installation takes between two and five days depending on the number of rooms and the complexity of the headend setup. We coordinate the schedule around your occupancy calendar to minimize disruption to guests and staff. Larger or multi-building properties may take longer — we'll give you a realistic timeline in your proposal.

Question 2

What channel packages do you offer?

Accepted Answer

We work with major content providers to build custom channel lineups that fit your property type, market, and guest profile. Packages can include local broadcast, national cable, sports tiers, premium channels, and international programming. We'll recommend the right mix based on your guests' expectations and your budget.

Question 3

Can guests cast from their own devices to the in-room TV?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our IPTV systems support casting and streaming app integration, allowing guests to access their own Netflix, Hulu, or other accounts directly on the in-room TV — without leaving their credentials behind. We configure the system to clear guest sessions automatically at checkout.

Question 4

Do you supply the TVs and hardware, or do we source our own?

Accepted Answer

We handle everything. DCI Systems sources, delivers, and installs all equipment — including commercial-grade TVs, headend hardware, cabling, and accessories. Using commercial-grade displays (rather than consumer TVs) is important for reliability and warranty coverage in a hospitality environment, and we'll walk you through the options.

Question 5

Do you support integration with existing PMS systems?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We have experience integrating with a wide range of Property Management Systems, including Opera, Maestro, Cloudbeds, and others. PMS integration allows for features like automated guest check-in/check-out on the in-room TV, billing integration, and personalized welcome screens. Let us know what PMS you're running and we'll confirm compatibility during the discovery phase.

Question 6

Can you handle multi-property rollouts?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely — multi-property deployments are one of our specialties. We have experience rolling out standardized technology systems across hotel portfolios and apartment communities, coordinating installations across multiple locations while maintaining consistency in configuration, branding, and support. We assign a dedicated project manager for portfolio engagements.

Question 7

We have an older system already in place. Can you work with it?

Accepted Answer

Often, yes. We assess your existing infrastructure during the discovery phase and identify what can be retained, upgraded, or replaced. In many cases we can extend the life of existing equipment while modernizing the guest-facing experience. We'll always give you an honest assessment of what makes sense versus what needs to go.

Question 8

What's included in 24/7 support?

Accepted Answer

Our 24/7 support means a real person answers when you call — any time of day, any day of the year. We provide remote diagnostics and troubleshooting for most issues, and dispatch a technician for on-site problems that can't be resolved remotely. Support covers all equipment and systems we've installed, and we track issues proactively through our monitoring infrastructure so we often know about a problem before you do.

Question 9

What happens after installation — is there an ongoing service agreement?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer ongoing service and maintenance agreements that include proactive monitoring, scheduled preventive maintenance, priority response times, and a dedicated account contact. We'll recommend the right support tier for your property during the proposal phase. Many of our clients have been with us for 10+ years — long-term relationships are how we prefer to work.

Question 10

How quickly do you respond to service calls?

Accepted Answer

For critical issues — anything affecting guest rooms or core systems — we target a response within two hours and on-site dispatch within 24 hours depending on your location. For non-critical issues, we respond within four business hours. Clients on premium support agreements receive priority dispatch and faster SLAs. We'll be transparent about response time commitments in your service agreement.
